Butler Snow Foundation

In 1997, the members of Butler Snow established the Butler, Snow, O'Mara, Stevens & Cannada Foundation. The initial funding for the Foundation was a generous gift from one of Butler Snow's clients, made in appreciation for Butler Snow's representation related to a major transaction. Since then, Butler Snow has made annual contributions to the Foundation.

Each year the Foundation makes gifts or grants to deserving organizations, primarily those serving the needs of the communities in which Butler Snow has offices. The Foundation's first grant was to the Mississippi Episcopal AIDS Committee, which provided financial assistance for essential medications.

Over the years, the Foundation's grants have bought vans for two separate organizations serving the needs of the indigent or working poor, repaired facilities of a rescue mission serving the homeless, contributed to affordable housing for families who otherwise would have no possibility of home ownership, and supported capital improvement needs for organizations providing educational opportunities for at-risk children, youth and adults. After Hurricane Katrina ravaged the Gulf Coast in 2005, the Foundation made grants to five separate organizations, all of which were helping directly affected individuals and families rebuild their lives. At Butler Snow, we are committed to improving the communities in which we work and live - The Butler Snow Foundation is just one example of that commitment.
