Mississippi Bar Foundation Inducts Butler Snow Attorneys as Fellows
Jackson, Miss. – Butler Snow Attorneys Camille Henick Evans and Orlando R. Richmond, Sr. were recently elected as Fellows of the Mississippi Bar Foundation. Both were inducted into membership at the Foundation’s recent Annual Meeting and Fellows Induction Ceremony held at the Old Capitol Inn in Jackson in April. Evans, a native of Yazoo City, received her B.A. and J.D. from the University of Mississippi in 1982 and 1986, respectively, and was admitted to the Bar in 1986. Following a two-year clerkship with USDC Judge William H. Barbour, Jr., she has been with Butler Snow in Jackson for the past twenty years. She now concentrates her work in the firm’s Appellate and Written Advocacy Group where her practice focuses on business torts, product liability law, intellectual property and complex commercial litigation. As a member of the American Bar Association, she is a member of the Council of Appellate Lawyers and Woman Advocate Committee of the Litigation Section. Evans previously served in several capacities with the Mississippi Bar, including selection as Chair of the Litigation and General Practice Section, Secretary of the YLD, and MS District Representative to the ABA-YLD Executive Council. She currently serves as Editor of The Mississippi Lawyer magazine. In 1992, she received the Outstanding Young Lawyer of Mississippi award from the Young Lawyers Division of the Mississippi Bar, and was later inducted as a Fellow of that division. Richmond, who lives in West Point, earned his B.A. from Jackson State University in 1986 and his J.D. from Georgetown University in 1989. After serving as the judicial law clerk to Judge Herbert B. Dixon, Jr. of the District of Columbia Superior Court, he served as a Judge Advocate in the United States Marine Corps. His practice in the civilian sector began in 1994 at Butler Snow. Richmond is a member of the Pharmaceutical, Medical Device and Healthcare Industry Group where he practices in the areas of drug and medical device, product liability, medical liability defense and personal injury law. He is a member of the American Bar Association and of the Mississippi Bar where he previously served as Chair of the Litigation and General Practice Section. He now serves on the Executive Committee of the Workers’ Compensation Section. Richmond has been recognized in the General Litigation, Personal Injury: Defense and Personal Injury: Plaintiff sections of Mid-South Super Lawyers. He serves as City Attorney for the City of West Point, Mississippi and was most recently named as one of Clay County’s Top 40 Over 40 by the Daily Times Leader. The Bar Foundation was organized in 1963 to improve the administration of justice. It presently administers the Interest On Lawyers Trust Accounts Program, which has awarded over seven million dollars to public interest, law-related programs.

Anderson to Present CLE on HIPAA Anniversary
Butler Snow attorney Robert G. Anderson is a featured speaker at the Mississippi College School of Law CLE Mini Marathon. Anderson, a member of Butler Snow's White Collar Crime and Government Investigations Group and former Assistant United States Attorney, will present "Federal Grand Jury Practice" on August 15. Hutchinson to Present at DRI's Nursing Home Litigation Seminar
Butler Snow Attorney Chad R. Hutchinson is a featured speaker at the upcoming Nursing Home/ALF Litigation Seminar of the Defense Research Institute. Hutchinson will present "Advanced Deposition and Trial Techniques for Cross-Examining the Combative Plaintiff's Expert" on Thursday, September 4, 2008, at 4:15 p.m. Hutchinson is a member of the firm's Pharmaceutical, Medical Device and Healthcare Industry Group.
