Three Butler Snow attorneys are set to participate in the upcoming Business Disputes program presented by TexasBarCLE on Sept. 2-3. More information and registration details for the course, which is being presented via webcast, can be found here.
As course director, Amanda G. Taylor has led the planning committee and TexasBarCLE team in developing curriculum and executing the overall event. Taylor will kick off the course on Thursday, Sept. 2 with welcoming remarks.
Kim Bueno will co-present “Visual Advocacy: How to Effectively Persuade Through Graphical Demonstration” on Thursday, Sept. 2. Bueno will discuss how to integrate visual graphics into virtual and in-person presentations to persuade judges and juries. She will provide examples drawn from business litigation and practical tips on admissibility and preserving the visual record for appeal.
On Friday, Sept. 3, D. Todd Smith will co-present “Attorney’s Fees: Updated Proof Requirements and Legislative Amendments.” This presentation will cover the new standards for proving attorney’s fees, new legislation affecting potential fee awards, and strategies for successfully defending or opposing fee awards in trial and appellate courts.
Taylor, Bueno and Smith are attorneys in Butler Snow’s Austin office. Taylor and Smith are members of the firm’s Appellate and Written Advocacy group, while Bueno practices with the firm’s Pharmaceutical, Medical Device and Healthcare group.
