- Prepared legal opinions analyzing issues under Stark Law and the Anti-Kickback Statute for proposed transactions for hospitals, physician practices, physicians, pharmacies, laboratories, and rural health clinics.
- Prepared transactional documents and performed necessary due diligence for purchase and/or long-term lease of community hospitals, nursing homes, physician practices, laboratories, and substance use disorder treatment centers.
- Advised hospital systems concerning EMTALA and provider-based status.
- Represented physician practices and physicians in negotiation of recruitment and employment agreements.
- Represented various healthcare providers through UPIC and MAC audits.
- Represented hospital and home health agency through various levels of Medicare reimbursement appeals.
- Prepared successful summary judgment motion on behalf of nation-wide healthcare system dismissing fiduciary duty claim worth approximately $1.1. million.
