Butler Snow attorney Angie Godwin McEwen has been named a Fellow of the American College of Mortgage Attorneys (ACMA). McEwen joins P. David Andress as the second ACMA Fellow at Butler Snow.
Formed in 1974, the ACMA is comprised of 500 lawyers in North America who are experts in mortgage law. Fellows have distinguished themselves as practitioners in the field of real estate mortgage law through their skills and practice experience, bar association activities, lecturing, authoring articles and program materials, participation in the legislative process, and writing briefs and/or arguing cases that are significant to mortgage transactions. McEwen is a member of the firm’s Finance and Real Estate group and focuses her practice on real estate law, business and commercial transactions, financial services and commercial lending. She also serves on the firm’s Executive Committee.
McEwen has been recognized by Chambers USA since 2018 and Best Lawyers in America® since 2019. She is a LEED® Green Associate accredited professional and has been named Who’s Who in Law, Best of the Bar and Top 40 Under 40 by the Birmingham Business Journal.
McEwen earned her bachelor’s degree, magna cum laude, from Birmingham-Southern College and her Juris Doctor from Vanderbilt University Law School. She is a member of the American, Alabama State and Birmingham Bar Associations, as well as Birmingham CREW (Commercial Real Estate Women).
