Butler Snow attorney Mary Henderson was recently named the Course Director of the Texas Bar’s 22nd Annual Governance of Nonprofit Organizations. The 2024 conference will be held from August 15 to 16 at the Cambria Hotel in Austin, Texas. The conference will also be replayed via webinar on September 12-13.

The Texas Bar’s Annual Governance of Nonprofit Organizations Conference is a conference that brings together lawyers, accountants, board members and directors from all across Texas. As Course Director, Mary has worked diligently with members of the Planning Committee to provide a dynamic and timely program and encourages attorneys, accountants and leaders of the approximately 120,000 charities registered in Texas and 8,000 private foundations to attend.

Mary is a member of Butler Snow’s Tort, Transportation and Specialized Litigation group. As a litigator and board-certified civil appellate specialist, Mary represents Butler Snow’s Austin office with many years of experience representing state agencies, individuals, corporations and the public interest in state and federal courts across Texas. Having served as a briefing attorney to a state appellate justice and as Deputy Chief of Consumer Protection and Senior Attorney for Charitable Trusts and General Litigation for the Office of the Texas Attorney General, she has a knack for evaluating, developing and implementing strategies through all phases of representation that lead to the best outcomes for the client. Mary is Board Certified in Civil Appellate Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization.
