Butler Snow Adds 12 New Attorneys Across Eight Offices

Butler Snow LLP is pleased to welcome 12 new attorneys in eight offices across the firm, including Austin, Texas; Baton Rouge, Louisiana; Birmingham, Alabama; Charleston, South Carolina; Gulfport, Mississippi; Memphis, Tennessee; Nashville, Tennessee; and Ridgeland, Mississippi.

Austin, Texas

Kennedy G. Gerard has joined Butler Snow’s Austin, Texas, office as a member of the firm’s Tort, Transportation and Specialized Litigation practice group. Gerard earned her bachelor’s degree, magna cum laude, from Howard University and her Juris Doctor, cum laude, from the University of Mississippi School of Law. During her final semester of law school, Gerard completed an externship with Judge Nghana Lewis of the 40th Judicial District Court in St. John the Baptist, Louisiana.

Baton Rouge, Louisiana

Caroline B. Cordell has joined Butler Snow’s Baton Rouge, Louisiana, office as a member of the firm’s Constitutional and Civil Rights practice group. Cordell received her bachelor’s degree from Mississippi State University and her Juris Doctor from the Paul M. Hebert Law Center at Louisiana State University.

Birmingham, Alabama

Ohtra R. Awad and Chatham M. DeProspo have joined Butler Snow’s Birmingham, Alabama, office. Awad will practice with the firm’s Tort, Transportation and Specialized Litigation group and DeProspo will practice with the firm’s Commercial Litigation group.

Awad earned her bachelor’s and master’s degrees from the University of Alabama at Birmingham and her Juris Doctor from Cumberland School of Law. DeProspo earned her bachelor’s and master’s degrees from the University of Alabama and her Juris Doctor from the University of Mississippi School of Law. Before joining Butler Snow, DeProspo clerked for the Honorable Gray M. Borden of the United States District Court for the Northern District of Alabama.

Charleston, South Carolina

Edward B. Mitchell has joined Butler Snow’s Charleston, South Carolina, office as a member of the firm’s Commercial Litigation practice group. Mitchell received his bachelor’s degree from the University of North Carolina and his Juris Doctor from the University of South Carolina School of Law.

Gulfport, Mississippi

John David (JD) Luffey has joined Butler Snow’s Gulfport, Mississippi, office as a member of the firm’s Tort, Transportation and Specialized Litigation and Regulatory and Government practice groups. Luffey earned his bachelor’s degree from Louisiana State University and his Juris Doctor from Mississippi College School of Law.

Memphis, Tennessee

Emilee S. Crocker, Noor E. Jaber and Haylie N. Lovelace have joined Butler Snow’s Memphis, Tennessee, office. Crocker will practice with the firm’s Pharmaceutical, Medical Device and Healthcare group, Jaber will practice with the firm’s Labor and Employment group and Lovelace will practice with the firm’s Tort, Transportation and Specialized Litigation group.
