Butler Snow attorney Dee P. Wisor was recently named a recipient of the National Association of Bond Lawyers’ President’s Service Award at the 2024 NABL Workshop. The NABL’s President’s Service Award, established in 2018, was created to honor and recognize members who demonstrate exemplary voluntary dedication to its committees, conferences and projects.

Since 1979, the National Association of Bond Lawyers has promoted the integrity of the municipal market by educating its members in the laws affecting state and municipal bonds. NABL serves as a forum for the exchange of ideas about law and practice, giving members valuable tools to help them continually improve their knowledge.

At Butler Snow, Wisor serves as Of Counsel in the firm’s nationally recognized Public Finance, Tax Incentives and Credit Markets Group. After 47 years practicing law representing governmental entities and other transaction participants in public finance transactions and economic development matters, he retired from active practice working on bond transactions at the end of 2023, but he continues to provide institutional knowledge and assistance to the firm’s public finance lawyers.

Prior to retirement, Wisor worked on general obligation bonds, user fee revenue bonds, special assessment bonds, excise tax revenue bonds, lease transactions, tax increment financings and private activity bonds. He is known for his expertise on Colorado’s constitutional Taxpayer’s Bill of Rights (“TABOR”).

Wisor has been recognized by Best Lawyers in America® since 2007, including being named Lawyer of the Year six times over the course of his career. He was also previously selected as a winner of the Denver Business Journal’s “Best of the Bar” award for his exceptional work in Public Finance. He is a Fellow of the American College of Bond Counsel and former President of the National Association of Bond Lawyers. He is a member of the Denver Bar Association, the Colorado Bar Association and the American Bar Association. He is admitted to the State Bar of Colorado.

Wisor earned his bachelor’s degree from Dickinson College and his Juris Doctor from the University of Denver.
