Butler Snow attorney Victoria A. Giese has been appointed as Vice Liaison of the Defense Research Institute’s (DRI) Young Lawyers’ Commercial Litigation Substantive Law Committee (SLC). As Vice Liaison, Giese will attend Young Lawyer events, provide Young Lawyers SLC updates and recruit members to participate in writing, speaking and leadership opportunities.
The Defense Research Institute (DRI) is the largest international membership organization of attorneys defending the interests of business and individuals in civil litigation. Membership in DRI provides access to resources and tools for attorneys who strive to provide high-quality, balanced, and excellent service to their clients and corporations.
Giese is a member of Butler Snow’s Commercial Litigation group and focuses her practice on a variety of business disputes in both state and federal court, including non-compete, DTPA, breach of contract, trade secret, premises liability, and personal injury cases. Her experience extends to all phases of litigation, from pre-suit strategy through post-trial appellate briefing. Giese also regularly participates in alternative dispute resolution, including mediations, to swiftly resolve matters and draft appropriate agreements to safeguard clients’ interests.
Giese is a member of the American, Texas and Austin Bar Associations, as well as the Travis County Women Lawyers Association. She is also a member of the Junior League of Austin.
Giese earned her bachelor’s degree from the University of Texas at Austin and her Juris Doctor from Baylor University. She is admitted to practice in Texas.
