Butler Snow Attorneys Caitlyn Burchfield and Charity Karanja to Speak at Council of Development Finance Agencies Webinar

Butler Snow attorneys Caitlyn Burchfield and Charity Karanja have been selected to speak at the Council of Development Finance Agencies webinar on March 10-11. The webinar, “Intro Bond Finance Course,” will address the basic requirements for issuing a bond, the rules and regulations that govern tax-exempt and taxable bonds, the major players involved in a bond transaction, and the roles and responsibilities of both public and private sector participants. Burchfield recently served as a co-panelist with Butler Snow attorney Adam Parker on a CDFA webinar titled “Bonds for Disaster Recovery and Economic Renewal.”

Burchfield will be leading “The Basics of Bond Finance” session and Karanja will present alongside four other speakers for a session titled “The Partners Involved.” Click here to register for the webinar.

Caitlyn Burchfield is a member of Butler Snow’s Public Finance, Tax Incentives & Credit Markets group. She is an experienced public finance and economic development attorney and provides counsel on taxable and tax-exempt public offerings, limited offerings, direct placements, and bank loans relating to multi-family housing, senior living facilities, universities and stadiums, educational facilities, healthcare facilities, and recreational and hotel developments. Burchfield’s representative projects span the country. She regularly serves as bond counsel, underwriter’s counsel, and lender’s counsel.

Charity Karanja is a member of Butler Snow’s Public Finance, Tax Incentives & Credit Markets group. She focuses her practice on public finance, economic development incentives, and government relations. She has served in multiple roles for public finance, new markets tax credit, and economic development matters. She was recently named to the 2024 class of the Caren S. Franzini Fellowship, a program dedicated to developing engaged women leaders in the field of development finance.
