Overview

Beau Cole is member of Butler Snow’s Products, Catastrophic and Industrial Litigation Group and Tort, Transportation and Specialized Litigation Groups. 

About

Beau’s background encompasses all types of litigation, including insurance contract and “bad faith” claims, government-led public interest claims, employment and other contract disputes, environmental disputes and toxic tort claims including the recent successful dismissal of hundreds of personal injury claims arising from In re: Deepwater Horizon, MDL No. 2179. He has deposed several hundred toxic tort plaintiffs and experts, has led multiple trial teams for various litigated matters and recently secured a multi-million dollar counterclaim and defense award in a complex, multi-party arbitration.  He recently served as local litigation counsel in In re: National Prescription Opiate Litigation, MDL No. 2804, including close coordination and parallel tracking of the referral orders and rulings.  Beau is an experienced trial attorney with success defending everything from small, but emotionally charged matters to high stakes “bet the company” litigation, including the recent favorable resolution of a $10M wrongful death claim.

Active in a variety of professional organizations, Beau is a Trustee of the Hinds County Economic Development Authority, a former member of the Mississippi Volunteer Lawyers Project Advisory Board, and the Public Information Committee Chair (2021-2022). He previously served as a member of the Board of Directors of the Mississippi Center for Legal Services and the Mississippi Supreme Court Access to Justice Commission’s Delivery Committee Chair.

Beau is recognized by Super Lawyers®, Best Lawyers in America® and Martindale-Hubbell®, and the Mississippi Bar Association honored him with its Distinguished Service Award (2020). Mississippi Business Journal selected him as a Top 10 Finalist for Mississippi’s Leading Attorneys (2016), and as one of its Leaders in Law (2015) and Top 50 Under 40 (2015).
