Matt is a member of Butler Snow’s Tort, Transportation & Specialized Litigation Practice Group and focuses his practice on commercial litigation and insurance defense.

Experience

  • Represents a variety of healthcare providers in lawsuits involving medical malpractice and wrongful death claims.
  • Represents major national and international insurance companies in defense of contractual and extra-contractual claims, including alleged breach of contract, bad faith, and fraud claims. 
  • Consults with insurers and provides coverage opinions to help insurers navigate complex coverage issues and, when necessary, pursues declaratory judgment actions or moves to intervene in pending litigation on behalf of the insurer.
  • Defends and prosecutes a wide range of commercial lawsuits in state and federal trial courts, including contract disputes, property litigation, financial services litigation, interference with business relationships, fiduciary duty claims, and fraud claims.
  • Represents commercial lessors in connection with lessee defaults and other disputes including, tort liability; rights and remedies under the lease and applicable statutes; compliance, breaches, and defaults involving specific lease provisions; commercial eviction; and collection of unpaid rent and accelerated rent.
  • Represents corporations named in toxic tort suits, including talc and asbestos exposure suits.
  • Represents a variety of different trucking companies involved in over the road accidents.
